Share Your Cutting-Edge Research as a Poster at SAWC Spring 2024

The Symposium on Advanced Wound Care (SAWC) invites you to submit an abstract for consideration to be presented as a poster at the Marriott World Center in Orlando, Florida, May 14–18, 2024. This is your opportunity to share your cutting-edge research with the best-in-class audience of experts in the field.

Posters will be on display during all poster hall hours and on multimedia screens. ePosters will also be available to view in the mobile app.

Late Breaking Abstracts

Late-breaking abstracts (LBAs) recognize novel, critically important research developments that occur during the lead-up to SAWC Spring.  LBA submission is solely for abstracts with late-breaking data and not for abstracts submitted “late”. The late-breaking abstract deadline is not intended to be an extension of the general submission deadline. Late-breaking abstracts highlight novel and practice-changing studies, and only apply to data that would have not otherwise have been presented as an abstract at the SAWC Spring | WHS 2024 meeting.

Four abstracts will be showcased during the "Late Breaking Abstracts: Bringing New Evidence to Light,"  session taking place Saturday, May 18th. Submit your late-breaking abstract by March 20, 2024.

A late-breaking abstract should contain new information. It may comprise:

  • either results that were not yet known, or fully available, on the regular abstract submission deadline.
  • or work that has been submitted for publication.

If a late-breaking abstract is not accepted, it will not be published or presented at the meeting. There is no longer an option for it to be considered as a regular abstract.

Criteria
Late-Breaking Abstracts will be considered for the SAWC Spring | WHS 2024 meeting if they fulfill the following criteria:

  • The topic must be of critical importance to the clinical/scientific wound healing community.
  • The abstract must report data that became available for public dissemination only after the deadline of the regular abstract submission (January 3, 2024), and has not been previously published or presented.
  • The study and results reported should be novel (not simply an extension of previously published work) or be definitive of confirming or refuting other critically important work.
  • The following categories are typically suited to the main poster sessions and will not be considered for late-breaking abstracts: case studies, reviews of existing treatments, etc.
  • LBA submission is solely for abstracts with late-breaking data and not for abstracts submitted “late”. The late-breaking abstract deadline is not intended to be an extension of the general submission deadline.
