Intended Learners

This conference is designed for physicians, nurses, physical therapists, researchers, scientists, podiatrists, and dietitians across all practice settings involved in the prevention, treatment, and management of patients with wounds, and those interested in the latest research findings that are relevant to tissue repair and wound care.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Develop an interdisciplinary and comprehensive approach to the prevention, treatment, and management of patients with wounds, including chronic, complex, and difficult-to-heal wounds. 

  • Cultivate best-practice strategies of clinical pearls and evidence-based guidelines for prevention and management of wounds 

  • Deliver optimal patient care through enhanced knowledge of reimbursement, quality measures, and the use of emerging and innovative wound healing technologies and modalities   

  • Explore factors inhibiting wound healing including COVID-19, medical comorbidities, and patient behavioral challenges. 

Activity Overview

This interactive educational conference will occur virtually from May 10–14, 2021.

This enduring material will be available for on-demand access for 6 months following the virtual conference.

To be eligible for documentation of credit, participants must attend the full activity and submit a completed evaluation form. Participants who complete the evaluation online within 60 days of the internet live programming or within 6 months of the internet enduring will receive immediate documentation of credit.

Participants are not eligible to receive credit for any part of this enduring materials previously claimed as part of the internet live event.

PHYSICAL THERAPY

North American Center for Continuing Medical Education, LLC (NACCME), will be applying for pre-approved accreditation in several states. The below list of pre-approved accreditation is current as of April 1, 2021.

Alabama: Will honor any coursework relevant to the practice of Physical Therapy.

California: The virtual course Symposium on Advanced Wound Care, Spring for March 10 – 14th, 2021 has been approved by the Medical Sciences Foundation for up to 57.5 continuing education hours.  The course approval number is#6618 with the PT California Board Approval agency and the certification for this course is valid for one year. 

Florida: This activity has been approved by the Florida Board of Physical Therapy Examiners. The maximum allowable hours for this program are 55.25. Accreditation of this course does not necessarily imply the FPTA supports the views of the presenter or the sponsors.

Hawaii: The Board will accept continued competence courses in subjects related to either the professional practice of physical therapy or patient/client management from courses approved by another state or jurisdiction's physical therapy board or its equivalent. 

Louisiana: This live course has been approved by the Louisiana Physical Therapy Board for a maximum of 18 clinical hours.
Louisiana: This on-demand course has been approved by the Louisiana Physical Therapy Board for a maximum of 52 clinical hours.

Maryland: This internet live course has been approved by the Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners for 1.8 CEU’s

New York: NACCME has been approved by the NY State Education Department, Office of Professions, as a sponsor of continuing education for physical therapists and physical therapist assistants. Approval: February 25, 2019–February 24, 2022.

North Carolina: This activity has been approved by the North Carolina Physical Therapy Association for a maximum of 55.25 contact hours, depending on which and how many sessions are attended. 

NCPTA approval does not imply NCPTA endorsement of any particular products, services, or views of any particular speaker or sponsor.

North Dakota: All competence activities related to physical therapy sponsored by the APTA, State PT Associations, Medical/Educational institutions or certified by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT) are automatically approved as "certified activities".

Oregon: SAWC Spring | WHS Virtual 2021 meets the requirements for 55.25 hours of continued competency in Oregon.

Texas: This activity has been approved by the TPTA 43 continuing competence units (CCUs) for PTs and PTAs. Approval Number 74095TX; Expiration: 11/6/2022

Washington D.C.: This symposium has been pre-approved by the state of Washington DC. Attendees must submit this certificate and any other material into your designated state board in order to receive full approval.
